Lets try this again.

Okay, so here's that post my computer DELETED yesterday.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
So, here's the blazer, shirt, and skirt I got from the Goodwill from like... 2 weeks ago. I ended up hemming the blazer to a size that was generally pleasing to me. But let me tell you, it wasn't easy. Took me about 5 tries. And I don't have a seam ripper. Yeah, pain in the butt.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
So I don't know if the skirt is really me. It might because the outfit isn't good with it, but I don't know for sure. I never wear skirts. I would appreciate it if you guys have any ideas of shirts that would look good with it. I could also make a shirt out of it. Just put a cardigan and belt over it, it could work.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
There's the detail of the skirt.

I need to get some grey tights and some black tights. Did I mention that in my last post? Oh well, I'll say it again. Got a hole in my black tights. I could just do the whole "rip holes to make it look grungy" thing, but I don't think my mom would be too keen on the idea of it. And I don't know if I'd like the look on myself.

Anybody have any ideas on what I should do with the skirt?
I might try to put it up on ebay. But that's a whole other adventure for another day.

Induction

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Sorry 'bout the face, had to do a quick pic because my camera's basically dead. And there are NO more batteries in the house. Buttt, this flower represents the reincarnation of my chorus career. I got it today in second period. It means that I've been accepted into the Falconaire for the 2009-2010 school year. I tried out 2 Thursdays ago. It's gonna be an exciting year next year:)

I usually don't wear this cardigan, because the fit seems weird to me. But I'm trying to wear everything in my closet, so I decided to give this one it's turn today. It's nothing too special, I'm need more tights, basic shirts, skirts, and shoes before I can start making school appropriate outfits.

Who would've thunk it?

Okay, so I'm not one of those Zac Efron freakazoid girls. Sure, I watched High School Musical 1 and 2, but didn't ever make it around to seeing the third one. Didn't want to waste the money and have to be around all of the super fans. And I think he's not too bad looking. Today when I was in Publix though, I saw him on GQ Magazine, and something about him seemed.... different.

And by the way, here's a picture of me and my church group at relay for life. My boyfriends the one in the neon glasses.

On another note, I want a good camera. Maybe a canon powershot. Or a nikon D60. I don't know, I want a professional like one, but also one that's easy to put into a purse and carry around. I really don't have any idea on how to decide what kind of camera to buy. How to tell which ones are better than others. So anything with that kind of expertise, please do share.

Please and Thanks!:)

I also don't know when I'm doing anotherr outfit post. I want to wear one of those floral skirts I got with grey tights, but I need to get some. And I also got a hoe in my black tights:(
I've been considering getting lacy tights also. But not leggings, personally, I hate leggings. Unless their latex or leatherleggings. That's my pnly exception. I'll probably get a post of my skirt up soon, just imagine grey tights with it.

Relay for Life

Was so much fun! I was in my mom's friend's group, but I hung out with my church the whole time. They were called the Steeple Stompers. I thought it was cute! :) I was there for 12 hours straight, and obviously I got tired. Towards the end all of the youth layed down like a big puzzle and fell asleep. This one boy was using my knee as his pillow. Then I woke up to find another boy using my stomach as a place to rest his head. I guess you can say we're all really comfortable with eachother. Haha:)

So, there were lots of games. I got to see some Drag Queens, play thread the needle(don't know if that's the correct name, but it involved a hula hoop), and I absolutelywas so elated when I saw the gift basket my group was auctioning off. It was filled with... Chanel. Dillard's donated it. $400 value could possibly be all yours at $1 a raffle ticket. There were perfumes, creams, and a silver makeup bag. I didn't bother to evter because 1)I didn't have any money on mr and 2)I don't the whole makeup, perfume scene. I only did 3 or 4 whole laps throughout the 12 hours. But I would definitely go next year, it's a blast.

And ohmygosh, this painting is so.... awesome!

Lastly, I would like to give everyone who gave me help and comments over the last couple of days mucho thanks. I appreciate getting your input sooo much!

On the dusty trail.

Okay, so, I jumped on the bandwagon and got a bloglovin. Just have to wait for the varification.
Here's the link to my blog lovin, I don't think it works yet.

I thought the first one was funny. And the second one caught my eye. Reminded me of the whole good-evil scheme.

And, woah, apparently Lindsey Lohan launched a clothing line . I took a quick look see, and definitely too expensive for me. They had tights for $100. Ouch...

So, I'm going to Relay for Life today. It's the second time I'm going. The first time I went, I donated my hair. That was in elementary school. Boy were the kids suprised at school the following Monday. Anyways, I'll feel like I belong a little more this time, because my grandpa just recently died of cancer. I think he had a brain tumor. It makes me kinda sad that I didn't get to know him better. I mean, once I started getting older, he didn't really come around. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Hmmm....

By the way, anyone with some knowledge of some great relatively cheap, vintage or thrift stores in Dunedin, give me a jangle. (not really, just comment)

A little help?

I read a lot of other fashion bloggers blogs every day. And I see that they have comments. Because people liked theit outfits, or maybe they have a subject talked about in that particular post. I just wanted some input from you guys on how to make an interesting blog, one that people want to comment and follow.

Also, I'm obsessed with this picture

It's this new technique.

So,I'm trying out this posting frm ur phone thing.I'm guessing I can't really put any pictures w/the post, seeing tht my phone has no internet.I guess wht I want 2 talk about rite now is how alot of ppl dress the same.Like, baby doll shirts.Ya know, mainstream stuff. But there's a group of ppl,tht I absolutely love the style of.I always love 2 c wht they have on.They dress indie/hippie-esque,and have an eclectic-ness 2 their clothes.1 girl,KT,likes 2 wear tights.I love tights w/an outfit. But she wears maroon and grey tights, which,in my opinion, may not always b easy 2 pull off.1 piece I used 2 give no notice 2,is a piece worn by this girl named Kelly. It's a green cardigan, tht has shells sewn all over it.Not actual shells,it's the pattern of the sewing tht lookslikeshells. It's much more nicer2look @thanTheUsualKnit cardigan.ICan'tMake ThisAnyLonger, bcuz theFieldOnMyPhone Won'tLetMe.SorryFor TheHorrible Writing.

So, I'm definitely not making a habit of phone posts. Maybe I'll just do it if I'm out and about and snap a pic of something interesting. I think I'm gonna go on a little bit of a sewing craze. Hemming, altering, and HOPEFULLY.....creating. Like a skirt. I still really want to do that. I have the tutorial, just need the supplies.

Oh, and by the way

You're my honey bunch sugar plum.

Stay Puft

The things my sister finds online! I mean seriously! Did you see his face and his eyebrows at the end? I wanted to reach through the monitor and squeeze his cheeks.

So, I went to the Goodwill store today. Anddd, I was so proud of my sister. She made her first Goodwill purchase today. After she saw how nice my hemmed plaid shirt came out, she decided to get herself one, and hem it too. It was such a nice bonding experience, guiding her through the sewing process. *sniff**sniff*

Anwyays, it turned good enough to make her happy, it's pointy in the back though, near the shoulders, because the shoulders of the shirt are so broad, and I don't know how to fix that.

So, my finds today included:
A grey men's shirt
High waist *FLORAL* shorts
High waist *FLORALLLL* skirt
Blazer
Belt

I tried to hem the blazer, it came out a little weird. Might try to make it fit closer to the body, I'll see what I can do with it. The mens shirt has already found many outfits to work itself into. And I've decided to put suttle tops with the loud shorts and skirt for now.

The cool thing about the belt I bought, is that my mom said she had the same one when she was younger, except the buckle was silver.

And I must let you all know, that my sister is just the cutest thing when I come home with clothes from the Goodwill. She asks right away, "Can I try them on?" Then she parades around the house and poses in the mirror. I don't care, whatever makes her happy, ya know?

My next target?
Latex tights.
Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic
They would go great with some boots.
Speaking of which, I really need some shoes to go with my girly outfits. Maybe some kitten heels. I don't know if I'm ready for some full blown high heels. But whenever I go to Goodwill, I can't find anything that fits me. My feet are seriously so out of place amongst those racks of shoes. Then, if I do find a pair, I have to like them. Which, isn't always the case, seeing that those shoes have a little extra... experience with them. I'll probably go to payless or something. Or steal my mom's shoes for the time being.

Are you trying to look prim and proper?

So, that romper I got from the Goodwill many moons ago is definitely too short to wear to school on its own. Buttt, I did find a way to make it school appropriate for school. So, I wore it today. All I had to do was put a pair of jeans and a cardigan on over it. Because we can't show our shoulders. Oh noooo. Those boys will get way too crazy seeing shoulders. I guess that rule will make sense to me someday.

My boyfriend always seems to have some comment about my outfit. So, when I walked up to him this morning, He asked why my shirt was tucked in. "Are you trying to be neat?" Now usually, him making comments about my outfit would make me self concious. But it didn't, because I felt good in what I was wearing. Actually, the only time I felt self concious in an outfit I was wearing, was the first time I wore something I bought from the Goodwill. It was an oversized cardigan. He said I looked like a grandma in it. But, ya know, that cardigan was my first used piece of clothing. It was like my baby, my first love. I wasn't gonna let a comment from my boyfriend break that love! It still holds a place in my closet, and my heart... Actually, one of the buttons came off yesterday. It seems to be a problem button, this'll be the second time it's popped off. I'll have to give it a good stern talking to, make sure it stays in it's place.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Okay, so, I personally think this romper is too short for my taste. So putting jeans or shorts over it solves my problem. But I just love the floral pattern, and how there's a black background. I'm still hoping I'll find an even more awesome floral dress.

And oh my ggoshhh, get this:
My dad made his very own pair of bleached jeans when he was a teen. Him saying that totally made my day. It would be such a bonding experience to make bleached jeans with him.

Full House

Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic

This kept coming up while I was looking for pictures of the clothes Candice and the other younger cast members wore. It's a Chinese drama about a movie star and a "normal" girl trying tp find love or something. The story line seemed kinda....like an overplayed story.

Anyways, Full House. I like how the outfits Candice wore were put together. I was just watching an episode where she wears a jacket with cool chain stuff on it. I would've loved to raid her closet.... or wardrobe. I guess it would be wardrobe because it's what was picked out, not from her closet, for her to wear for the show. Unlesss... Those are her personal clothes! That would be so much more inspiring to me, seeing all of the things she's put together. I guess I can only wonder...
Then there's "Kimmy". I've seen mostly quirky outfits on her, sometimes stuff I liked.

Have you guys ever seen that style where the collar of the shirt or sweatshirt you're wearing is cut out? I used to have a picture of me in a sweatshirt like that, cut by me, worn as a halloween costume. Maybe I'll be able to find it later.
But yeah, I wanna recreate that. Except this time get a better fitting sweatshirt. Another way I keep imagining it is getting a big shirt with a sweet image on it. I would probably have to take it in, but I think it'd look awesome. I'll probably get one on my next Goodwill adventure.
Image and video hosting by TinyPicOh look, it's me a year ago. Hi middle school Danielle!
On another note, I've been debating getting side bangs again. I have to, well, I feel the need to, straighten my long bangs every day. I think my hair is naturally wavy. And my long bangs do this weird wavy thing that annoys the heck out of me. I keep thinking that once I grow out my bangs it'll be better, but that's taking sooo long. And I don't like having to straighten my hair EVERY day, I know it damages my hair. And whenever I get a haircut, the hair lady compliments how thick and healthy my hair is. Then I started straightening my hair, andit turned to "there's some breakage here". I'll just keep waiting it out... I think. What do you think I should do?

Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever seen blue dyed leather. Unless, of course, black and tan are dyed leather. In that case, I would feel kinda stupid, because I didn't know that....

Okay, so today there was a tornado watch in my area. And in second period we had to do a real life tornado drill. It was kinda scary, because I was thinking that I could be sucked up into the tornado. Oohhh, but I could land in Oz like Zooey Deschanel did. Love her! The way she carries herself kinda reminds me of Ellen Paige, another one of my favorites.

I would upload more pictures, but my computers being wack. I've been on it for way too long. >.<.
Anyways, it was depressing and sad today because of the rain. I felt so unproductive. I've been on the computer for like, 5 hours. I even heard it hailed, I just forget where....
Good news though! I got pulled out of school early to get some passport stuff done. I'm going to Belize over the summer, so physched! I don't know if I'll get to shop and what not, seeing as it's a church mission trip, but I'll get to eat some foreign foods. But I really want to wander around, and come upon one of those streets with a plethora (nice word, ehh?) of markets. Where things are handmade and seem to be one of a kind and have the feel of the Belize culture in it.

Well, I'll try to go do something productive, like practice my songs on my guitar.
So long!

Look ma! I did it all by myself!

I fell superly awesome today. And right now, you're asking yourself "Why is that, Danielle?". Well, I finally got my mom's sewing machine out today, and I tailored a shirt. It's the plaid flannel one I got from the Goodwill on Thursday.
WHAT I'M WEARING TODAY:
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Shirt-Mens Section, Goodwill Bracelets-Handmade, Gift Jeans-Bullhead Shoes(not pictured)-Vans(Black Slip ons)

So, once I had gotten all the pins in and was about to start sewing, I remembered "I forgot to take a before picture". So, I want you to imagine this shirt 2 and 1/2 inches bigger on each side. Yeah. It was a lot bigger. And my sister said to tuck the front of my shirt into my jeans, 'cause she saw them do it that way on the PacSun website. And it worked for decreasing the size a little bit, but it kinda looked weird, but kinda good at the same time.
Pacsun.comImage and video hosting by TinyPic

I've definitely got the inspiration bug now though. I can walk into a Goodwill store, and instead of looking at a shirt and saying "Oh, that's too big," I'll just add, "But I can change it". Knowing that I can do this to a garment opens up so many possibilites and knocks down so many boundaries. And I've finally found my perfect plaid shirt. I was always frustrated with the shirts I found in mall stores, the sides went up too high and the fit was usually weird. But I dont need mall stores anymore, oh no! I can make my perfect shirt without spending $15! So, ha!, to them.

Now I just have to convince my mom to take me to Joann's or a place like that. I've attempted making a vest before, but never got around to finishing it. Mostly because I was making it with the help of my mom's friend, and because I put in a bag and hung it on a hook near the front door, and it mysteriously dissapeared.

I probably wouldn't wear it though (even though it actually looked nice). I put darts in it because I used to like my clothes to be like a second skin. But I've actually found darts to be the problem as to why I can't find a vest that fits me the wai I like it. Ya see, I usually like to wear my vests open, and it looks weird open because of the shape the darts give it. Butt, If I get a vest without darts, I won't have that problem. I just need to get a vest pattern, and I'll have no problem.

Lastly, I'm going to the mall today with some friends. All of my friends are getting their liscences, and I haven't even gotten my permit yet. It's soo frustrating. I want to have the freedom of the open road. I could go thrifting EVERY day. I could get a job and buy a sewing machine. But no, I just have to sit here and wait my turn. Oh well.
