Birthday

So, my mom said she'll spend $150 on a camera for my birthday.
My mom's friends works with professional cameras and she said that Nikon an dCanon are the best brand.
This is the camera my mom's friend suggested

I don't want to get a professional camera, so this'll work for now. Plus, it has a rechargeable battery, which seems to be a better choice then non-rechargeable batteries. The camera I have now takes two AA's, but it runs out of battery fairly quick. Which would be very frustrating when I bring it to camp in a couple of weeks, especially if I don't bring enough batteries.

It has a lot of cool features and it costs $150. I was looking for a canon camera, but they don't have as many features a the nikon coolpix, and they cost more.

I would love to be able to get a more expensive camera, just so I know I'm getting the best.
Like this one.

honestly, don't get a coolpix. i'm not experienced with them or anything but the canon sd1100 is a top notch camera, especially for a point and shoot.

Nikon cameras are FANTASTIC. I've had two at this point, and I've loved both of them. Plus they have fantastic customer service!

I think that's a pretty solid camera. Play with the features, the light, the subjects, haha and just have fun : )

That's a fairly reliable camera, but it's definitely not great. I suppose for $150 it's pretty good, but it might be worth investing a few dollars for something better. Also, are you going to have a way to recharge the battery at camp? If so, that's a very different camp than I ever went to...

Nikon is a great choice!

I have no knowledge on point and shoot cameras, or any cameras for that matter :) But supposedly Nikon and Canons are the best in point and shoot and dslr, so probably a good choice!

Nikon's a great choice, I had it for awhile & I've dropped it 50000000000 times but it still worked just as new :D

But then 50000000001th time it broke :[[[[[

Oh my god, you need to invest in cage-like sandals. I wear mine almost every day! I feel sorry because the rest of my shoe collection isn't getting the lovin' it needs!

i'm not so much a nikon girl, canons are more m territory, however one camera i would really recommend the sony cybershot, i used it for 4 year without a problem and took some absolutely stunning shots.

Personally if I were you I would wait it out a little longer and save up for a SLR. Best decision I ever made in my life.

Thanks for the blog comment, the galaxy is exactly what the print on my dress reminds me of too.

My camera is a Canon Rebel XS. It's pretty expensive and bulky, and it's really only basic for a DSLR, but it serves me well. I love it!
