At the end of the rope

Shirt-F21 Blazer-Thrifted Jeans-F21 Shoes-(not pictured) Keds
What I did at the beginning of the school year is:
I made a goal to not rewear any of my shirts until I've worn each of my shirts at least once.
I've almost worn almost all of my shirts, and now, and I'm excited to get back into my shirts and style them differently.

Well, nothing that exciting going on, sooo, I'm going to go get ready to go to a musical thing going on tonight at my school.:)

It's happening

Aren't I cute?

Dress-Thrifted Dress-Thrifted Tights-? Necklace-Hi Ho Silver Co. Shoes-?

Here's the dress I hemmed. I actually wore this to school today! I was so proud of myself, I would usually be like, "this looks too ridiculous". But I really wanted to wear this dress, because it's pretty. So I did what I wanted to. I think I'll start doing that more often now!

Productivity is key

Remember this skirt I showed you from my last thrifting adventure?
Well, here it is now! I just shortened it, no big deal. I wore this to church today and when I went thrifting afterwards. Well, subtract the cream half-cardigan and the belt, and that's what I wore thrifting.

We just had a cold front come in where I live and it was soo beautiful this morning. Unfortunately, it's supposed to be gone by Wednesday. Mhhh:(

Anyways, I was working with layering in this outfit, because a normal jacket would not have worked with it. So, this is what I came up with.

On another note, I went thrifting today. I got a blazer, vest, sweater and a dress. The blazer has shoulder pads in it, so I'm going to try to get those out, because they're a tad bit too big and I'm definitely not a fan of shoulderpads. The vest I'm going to take in also, because it's wayyy too big and then the dress, I just have to take it up. 'Cause it's a little bit too long for me.

A quick 'un

Here's a long procrastinated post with pictures of my vest I took in. I'm pretty happy with it:).

Well, that's all I really have to say.... Nice talking to you guys! We should do it again sometime.

Hamsaaaaa

I would really like to own one of these. They're called Hamsa Hands and I think that they can be beautifully designed. They can be simple, like the first one, or extravagant, like the last 5. I need to do a little bit more research on them, but so far I've come up with:
They give the user good luck and don't belong to a specific religion.
I'm not completely sure about the religion part, so please correct me if I'm wrong. But aren't they just beautiful?

I'm also kind of interested in Evil eyes too. They've just been catching my attention too.

How do you make you images bigger on here without making them blurry? I guess you could also call it resizing....

P.S. How do you guys like the new layout? I drew the header myself!

Arrivals

Sweater-Thrifted Shirt-F21 Jeans-Thrifted Shoes-Keds
This sweater is sooo comfy and cute and definitely keeps me warm and I love it! I love thrifting!
My TOMS also came today! Happy about that. Check out what they're about at www.tomsshoes.com. They give a pair of shoes to a child in need of them whenever someone buys a pair of their shoes.

My TeenVogue also came, so I'm going to get off and read that.
Hope you all are having a lovely weekend. Tomorrow's Fridayy!

Tribalize-ing

Shirt-F21 Necklace-F21 Belt-Thrifted Skirt-Thrifted Tights-? Shoes-Minnetonka Moccasin Shop
Here art the shorts that I made into a skirt. I like the way they came out. I think I'll start buying shorts more often and making them into skirts now.
I also need to get new moccasins, because mine are falling apart and I usually have to glue them back together somewhere before I wear them.

Quaint

Glasses-F21 Scarf-Thrifted Cardigan-F21 Shirt-F21 Jeans-Bullhead Shoes-Walmart?

This scarf made me feel so dainty today. I had two people say that they liked my "old lady scarf" today in school. Kind of a back-handed compliment. Haha. But, I'm just glad to finally have scarves in my wardrobe. And this one is so pretty to me.

When I first started this blog, I wasn't very comfortable wearing certain things, especially to school. I would have never imagined wearing a blazer to school, or brouges. I'm definitely feeling a tad bit bolder in my fashion decisions lately though. Also, whenever I enter a thrift store now, I see so much more potential in the clothes. Like, I might see a skirt, and think "Oh, I can hem this up and I'll like it". Or spot a vest, and think "I can just take it in and it will fit me". Learning how to sew has definitely allowed me to choose clothes that I would normally not be able to buy due to size.
I love it!

Stop cutting up grandma's couches!

Vest-Thrifted Shirt-Walmart? Jeans-Pink (given to from cousin) Shoes-Keds
So, here's that vest I showed you in yesterday's post. I just took it in on the sides a tad bit. As you can see, the back of the vest is purple (my favorite color!). Also, the button's were very interesting to me.

I have a thrifting buddy, so to speak, in my seventh period. Her name is KT and she has fire red hair and she's awesome. Her style is different and I love it. When I walked into class today, she was like "That vest!" I just love ending my day with that class:) Just thought I'd share that with you all. Haha.

Anyways, as you can see, I took pictures outside today. I would have to say that it improved the quality of my pictures a little bit, which pleases me. I was getting worried that all of my pictures would have bad quality for the rest of eternity! I've had a bad history with cameras. Well, my mom has had a bad history with cameras. She buys me camera's, and I usually end up not liking them for whatever reason. Usually because the quality of the pictures turns out to be bad.
My next camera purchase will probably be a professional-like camera. Sometime off in the future though.

Ohh, did I tell ya'll that I'm in the school play? It's called "The Tempest". A Shakespearean play. I'm a spirit, and I add character and magic to the play. It's a pretty awesome part, because I wear all black and my character is a puppet. And the ending is sooo powerful. You all have to look it up or go see it.

Thrifting

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Above are things I tried on in the Main Street Thrift Store the other day when I went shopping there, but didn't buy. And of course, I now wish I had bought them, because first off; I'm seriously obsessed with quirky vests and secondly; I like having dresses. I feel like I need to get more. Especially vintage-y ones. Those make me happy:)I finally got a black cozy cardigan! Now I'm out on the look for a slimmer fitting black cardigan. A long one, so I can wear it with dresses. But anyways, I like the cut out pattern on the bottom portion of the sweater. I'm having a brain block and don't know what that's called...
I also found some cool scarves. Amelia inspired me to get some. One is a light, feminine floral. It will be nice to pair with a slim fitting cardigan. And the other scarve has some bold colors in it. I think it will look nice paired with a navy blazer. I could also wear them as headbands too. I haven't quite figured out how to make that work yet though... I have tied the floral one to the purse below though, and I liked the outcome.
I also got a cute little brown leather (maybe?) bag. It has surprise compartments in it and I love it! It fulfills my brown leather bag want for now. Next, I'll be on the look out for a bigger one, to fit all of my stuff I carry in my bag.

Thinks I made alterations on:

These were a last minute grab. I was on my way to the dress section, putting away that dress pictured earlier in the post. Then I saw these shorts. And I was like "No wayyy". I totally had to have them, the print was calling my name. I've seemed to develop a liking for quirky prints lately. I've already cut and sewed them and turned them into a skirt.
This skirt was a tad bit too long for my taste, but something about the pattern attracted me. It was a "your great grandmother's couch" type of pattern. And for some reason, I was liking it. So, all I did was take up the hem.
This vest is continuing the "your great-grandmother's couch" theme. I kind of like those patterns. Well, obviously I do, If I'm buying clothes that have those types of patterns on them. Haha.

Anyways, I'm not very happy with the quality of my pictures lately. I'm going to try to play around with lighting and setting to see if it improves the quality. Hopefully it does. Because this is the only camera I have for now. Eventually though, I hope to save up and get a Canon Rebel or a camera like that one.
